Ownlife is a self-produced dance/pop act from Perth, Australia, and the 2025 WAM Electronic Song of the Year winner. At just 20 years old, he transitioned from singer-songwriter roots into live electronic performance, carving out a distinct space in Australia’s dance scene.
Following support slots on Newport’s Australian headline tour (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane), plus previous shows with What So Not and Grammy-nominated DJ/songwriter Will Clarke, Ownlife has built serious momentum. His sophomore EP, Close Disconnect, explores themes of ego death, burnout, and creative surrender. Drawing sonic inspiration from RÜFÜS DU SOL, Fred again.., and Porter Robinson, Ownlife blends atmospheric club production with something more personal — he sings on most of his tracks, bringing a confessional edge to both recordings and live DJ sets.
“If Only” sits firmly in the club-adjacent lane — emotionally vulnerable yet rhythmically driven. Built around shimmering synth layers, pulsing percussion, and introspective vocals, the track explores longing and the weight of “what if.” There’s a sense of movement throughout — not explosive, but immersive — the kind of late-night dancefloor clarity where emotion and rhythm blur together.
“If Only” reflects Ownlife’s evolution from nostalgia-driven dance to something more expansive and self-aware, proving that electronic music can still feel deeply human at its core.
