Gallus are a snarling, sharp-tongued punk outfit from Scotland, known for pairing deadpan wit with bruising, riff-heavy energy. Fronted by the charismatic and confrontational Barry Dolan (vocals), the band — Paul Ewins (drums), Eamon Ewins & Gianluca Bernacchi (guitars), and Matthew McGoldrick (bass) — thrive on tension, groove, and a fearless sense of humour. Their sound blends post-punk grit, indie sleaze swagger, and garage-rock immediacy, delivered with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. The phrase “the dogs bark but the caravan moves on” sums up their ethos perfectly — unbothered, defiant, and always pushing forward.
“Perfect Health” is classic Gallus: taut, punchy, and laced with sardonic bite. Beneath its muscular guitars and propulsive rhythm lies a commentary on image, perception, and the absurd performance of “having it all together.” The track rides a tight groove while Dolan’s vocal delivery swings between sneer and swagger, turning social critique into something strangely danceable.
“Perfect Health” doesn’t preach — it prods. It laughs in the face of expectation, shrugs off noise from the sidelines, and barrels ahead with sharp hooks and sharper attitude.
