Bathing Suits – Swan Princess: A Brutalist Electro-Noise Assault Completing KILL Bathing Suits

Bathing Suits are a Leeds electro-noise outfit rapidly tearing through the UK DIY circuit. First gaining serious underground traction supporting Prostitute at Brixton Windmill, the band have since built momentum toward tastemaker showcases including Left of the Dial and The Great Escape.

Backed by praise from So Young, Cold, Bandcamp, and Rolling Stone, Bathing Suits have been described by Louder Than War as a “disco version of Ireland’s Gilla Band.” The comparison makes sense — industrial abrasion colliding with dancefloor propulsion. Their live presence is centred around vocalist Freyja Blevins, whose commanding, confrontational performance style pulls chaos straight into the crowd.

They blur the line between club culture and noise rock, nodding toward the hypnotic techno pulse of Dame Area while retaining the jagged unpredictability of UK post-industrial acts. The result: a band equally at home in a mosh pit or a warehouse rave.

Released via Underplay Recordings, “Swan Princess” completes their EP KILL Bathing Suits. The track is an abrasive, pulsating wall of sound — relentless beats colliding with distorted textures in a sensory overload that feels deliberately overwhelming.

Industrial rhythms throb beneath layers of electronic chaos, pushing forward with club-ready insistence. There’s no retreat from the noise; instead, the band weaponise it, transforming distortion into something danceable. It’s raw, unfiltered, and purposefully maximalist.

As the final piece of the EP, “Swan Princess” locks the project into place — a fitting culmination of five tracks built on intensity and fearless experimentation.

Why it is trending

With upcoming festival slots at The Great Escape and Left of the Dial, plus a buzz-building DIY reputation, Bathing Suits are positioned as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging noise acts. Their ability to fuse dance-punk and industrial electronics gives them crossover appeal across indie and underground club scenes alike.

Live, they’ve developed a reputation for generating chaos organically — no forced hype, just sheer sonic impact. As KILL Bathing Suits cements their sound, “Swan Princess” stands as a defining statement: abrasive, physical, and impossible to ignore.
