PET NEEDS are a four-piece punk/alt-rock band from Essex, England, formed by brothers Johnny and George Mariott and now completed by Jules (drums) and Ryan (bass). What began as a humble bedroom project quickly escalated into one of the UK’s most vital modern punk bands following their acclaimed debut Fractured Party Music (2021). Known for relentless live shows, emotional honesty, and breakneck energy, PET NEEDS’ rise has included sold-out tours, global runs with Frank Turner, The Lottery Winners, Flogging Molly, and The Bouncing Souls, and widespread critical praise. Their third album Intermittent Fast Living continues a run of records defined by urgency, heart, and fearless experimentation.

“Hey You Hey You (Are You Are You OK OK?)” captures the band’s defining strength: turning chaos into connection. Fast, hook-heavy, and emotionally direct, the track balances punk velocity with genuine concern, asking a simple question that cuts through noise and bravado. Beneath its shout-along exterior lies a song about checking in, survival, and solidarity, making it as cathartic as it is compassionate. Built for sweaty rooms and communal release, “Hey You Hey You (Are You Are You OK OK?)” reinforces PET NEEDS’ reputation as a band who never lose sight of the people in front of them—even at full speed.
