Critter Cabal is a self-described "kinda kooky grunge trio" based in Cardiff, Wales, UK. The band is fronted by singer/songwriter Alex Nagle (guitar, vocals), who was raised in the bohemian surroundings of The Chelsea Hotel, NYC, with a stepfather who was a founding member of Blood, Sweat and Tears. Alex has an extensive musical background, having played in the Los Angeles, New York City, and New England music scenes, including as guitarist for the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame-inducted band Plan 9.

The other core members are Jen, the iconic bassist from Oxford cult bands Smilex, Dolly & Moonkat, and drummer Dave Headon (ex-Nubiles/Mystics/Four Storeys), who brings a "Jimmy Chamberlain-esque propulsion" and '60s/'70s rock know-how. Critter Cabal is known for fermenting a unique brew of rock 'n' roll, effortlessly distilling catchy hooks and accessible melodies. Their band name stems from a fantasy of critters reclaiming nature and rebalancing planet Earth, fitting their rural lifestyle in the Welsh hills. They have released singles like "Someday/Denim & Paisley" and "Sweep" (March 2025), gaining considerable indie airplay and performing at festivals. Their forthcoming EP is being mastered by Charlie Francis (known for REM, Manic Street Preachers).
