Nadedja is a Brazil-born, UK-based artist whose music fuses Western and Brazilian influences into an evocative, genre-defying sound. Backed by the PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music Award, she introduces a powerful new chapter with her debut album Daughter Of The Equator Sky — a deeply personal journey of self-acceptance and resilience. Recorded and co-produced with Bob Mackenzie, the album explores her experience of moving to the UK for love, the joy and heartbreak of building a life far from home, and the enduring connection to her roots.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Carole King, Joni Mitchell, St. Vincent, and Maggie Rogers, Nadedja’s sound blends música popular brasileira (MPB) with UK and American alternative pop, creating a style that feels both timeless and borderless. Her emotionally rich songwriting has earned acclaim from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and BBC Introducing, as well as major performance slots at Latitude, SXSW London, Dot to Dot, and Kendal Calling. With her music featured on ITV2’s Love Island and recognition from The Ivors Academy, Nadedja continues to rise as one of the UK’s most exciting new voices.

“I Punched A Hole In The Sky” is Nadedja at her most vulnerable and defiant. Blending cinematic pop production with heartfelt lyricism, the song captures the emotional turbulence of breaking through fear and reclaiming personal freedom. Her crystalline vocals soar over lush instrumentation, embodying both fragility and strength. It’s a moment of transformation — a powerful anthem for anyone learning to find their place between worlds.
