Sleaford Mods are an English post-punk/electro-punk duo from Nottingham, England, known for their abrasive, minimalist beats and bitter, spoken-word lyrical style delivered by frontman Jason Williamson over gritty, loop-based music from Andrew Fearn.

Over nearly two decades, they’ve built a reputation for sharp social critique, working-class perspective, and a raw, confrontational approach to punk-influenced music. Their work examines modern life with wit, cynicism, and visceral honesty — turning everyday frustration into artful rants.

“Elitest G.O.A.T.” is a standout new single from Sleaford Mods’ upcoming 13th studio album, The Demise Of Planet X (released 16 January 2026 via Rough Trade Records).

Featuring Aldous Harding, the track juxtaposes Sleaford Mods’ blunt spoken delivery and pulsating electro-punk rhythm with Harding’s ethereal vocal flourishes — producing a mix of 21st-century angst and unexpected pop sensibility.

Built on bright synths and propulsive beats, the song draws influence from David Bowie’s progressive era, particularly Low, giving the minimalist duo a fresh sound that still feels unmistakably theirs.

Lyrically and sonically, “Elitest G.O.A.T.” offers a bittersweet soundtrack to modern life, contrasting social bravado and personal vulnerability, amplified by the playful yet poignant presence of Harding’s voice.
