Shame are a South London post-punk force, notorious for their explosive live energy and razor-edged sound. Formed in 2014, the five-piece—Charlie Steen (vocals), Sean Coyle-Smith and Eddie Green (guitars), Josh Finerty (bass), and Charlie Forbes (drums)—have carved a path through modern rock with acclaimed albums Songs of Praise (2018), Drunk Tank Pink (2021), and Food for Worms (2023). Their music blends biting social commentary with feral intensity, earning them a reputation as one of Britain’s most vital guitar bands.
Released September 5, 2025, “Cutthroat” is the ferocious title track from Shame’s upcoming fourth album. Produced by Grammy-winner John Congleton, the song is a visceral attack—spitting venom at hypocrisy and cowardice while riding a storm of raw post-punk riffs. The accompanying video, directed by Ja Humby, mirrors the chaos with death-defying motorcycle stunts, strobe-lit theatrics, and brazen visuals that amplify its unrepentant tone. With Cutthroat, Shame sharpen their blade: furious, cinematic, and utterly uncompromising.
