Humour is an acclaimed post-punk band from Glasgow, Scotland. The quintet consists of Andreas Christodoulidis (vocals), Ross Patrizio (guitar), Ruairidh Black (guitar), Lewis Doonan (bass), and Jack Blamire (drums). They have rapidly gained recognition for their intense live performances and a sound that blends raw aggression with moments of unsettling beauty.

Drawing comparisons to bands like Fontaines D.C. and The Murder Capital, Humour's music is characterized by its propulsive rhythms, abrasive guitar work, and Christodoulidis's distinctive, often theatrical, vocal delivery. Their lyrics frequently delve into themes of anxiety, existentialism, and the complexities of human relationships, often with a dark sense of wit. They signed with So Young Records and released their debut EP, Pure Misery, in 2022, followed by All The Boys in 2023. Their debut album, Pure Misery, is highly anticipated.

"In the Paddies" is a new single by Humour, officially released on July 24, 2025. It serves as a preview of their upcoming debut album, "Pure Misery," which is scheduled for release on October 18, 2025, via So Young Records. A music video for "In the Paddies" was also released, directed by Andreas Christodoulidis and Ross Patrizio, and edited by Alex Nicholson.

Lyrically, "In the Paddies" is a deeply personal and reflective song that explores identity, belonging, and the search for oneself within specific cultural or geographical contexts. Lead singer Andreas Christodoulidis stated that the song is "about growing up in Scotland but being Greek and feeling an outsider." This highlights themes of:

  • Cultural identity and hybridity: Navigating two different cultural heritages.

  • Belonging and alienation: The feeling of not fully fitting in, despite being raised in a particular place.

  • Self-discovery: The ongoing process of understanding one's roots and place in the world.
