Heavy Lungs are a Bristol-based noise-rock quartet known for their combustible mix of post-punk grit, garage-rock fuzz, and unfiltered attitude. Formed in 2017, the band features frontman Danny Nedelko on vocals and synths, Oliver Southgate on guitar, George Garratt on drums, and James Minchall on bass. Their earlier EPs—Abstract Thoughts (2018), Straight to CD (2019), and Measure (2019)—and debut album All Gas No Brakes (2023) established them as a force in the UK underground, pairing raw energy with wry humor and occasional bursts of synth-driven chaos.
Their track “Mr. Famous”, released ahead of their sophomore album Caviar (April 18, 2025 via FatCat Records), captures the band’s signature sneer in concentrated form. Described by Heavy Lungs as “a collection of exaggerated proclamations and God honest truths,” the song finds Nedelko lampooning celebrity arrogance with the refrain, “I’m Mr. Famous, stop bothering me.” Musically, it’s a jagged, swaggering affair—equal parts lo-fi grit and slacker cool—drawing on influences like The White Stripes but with a heavier, more unhinged edge.
