The Vone is a compelling cinematic rock band based in London, UK. Fronted by actor-musician Marcelo Cervone, the band is a vibrant hotchpotch of English, Scottish, Russian, Malaysian, and Brazilian musicians, bringing a diverse array of flavors to their music. The core members include Marcelo Cervone (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Alex Marvey, Stewart McCheyne (who joined on bass), and Marcus Ramtohul (who joined on guitar). They were formed in 2017 and have been building their fanbase through relentless writing and busking sets in London.

Their sound is characterized by soaring melodies, pulsating drums, and bags of character, creating an epic and powerful sonic experience. The Vone records with Tom Hill at The Bookhouse Studio, a "best kept secret" in South East London, known for its comfortable and high-quality recording environment. The band's energy is vividly showcased in their incredible music videos, directed by Marc Sharp (known for his work with Saint Phnx, Frank Carter), which are featured on their YouTube page. Fans can join "team vone" on their website (https://thevone.band) for exclusive updates.

"Indie Music" is the latest single from The Vone, officially released on July 29, 2025. This track is also accompanied by an official music video, directed by the band's own guitarist Liam Webb, which is their first-ever narrative music video. The song was written by Marcelo Cervone, with the original guitar solo written by Marek Woloszyn. It was produced, engineered, and mixed by Tom Hill at The Bookhouse Studio and mastered by Dan Coutant.

Lyrically, "Indie Music" is a defiant and self-aware anthem that directly questions and reclaims the meaning of "indie" music. The song explores:

  • Refusal to conform: A strong stance against blindly following trends or external pressures.

  • Questioning genre politics: A critique of how genres are defined, whether by sound, trend, or rule-breaking.

  • Reclaiming authenticity: A declaration of what it truly means to be an independent artist, emphasizing staying true to oneself.

  • The tension between artistic integrity and commercial pressures: Navigating the desire for success while maintaining artistic honesty.
