The Dirty Nil is a Canadian rock band formed in Hamilton, Ontario, in 2006. The current lineup features Luke Bentham on lead vocals and guitar, and Kyle Fisher on drums. While often labeled as punk rock due to their raw energy and attitude, the band prefers to simply define themselves as a rock band, blending swaggering riffs of hard rock with punk's ferocity.

They've built a reputation for their high-octane live performances and their knack for crafting explosive, riff-filled anthems. Over the years, The Dirty Nil has garnered significant critical acclaim, including a Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2017. Their discography includes several studio albums, with their latest, The Lash, released today, July 25, 2025.

"This is Me Warning Ya" is a track from The Dirty Nil's brand new fifth studio album, "The Lash," which was released today, July 25, 2025. A live performance video of Luke Bentham performing the song was also released, providing an intimate look at the track.

Lyrically, "This is Me Warning Ya" stands out on The Lash as a remorseful, low-lit reflection on past mistakes. Unlike some of their more urgent or defiant tracks, this song takes a more introspective and vulnerable turn. The title suggests a direct address, a candid admission of past errors that serves as a caution, perhaps to oneself or to another, about avoiding similar pitfalls. It taps into themes of personal accountability and the lessons learned from difficult experiences.
