Problem Patterns are a formidable punk rock quartet from Belfast, Northern Ireland. The band formed in 2018 and is comprised of Ciara King, Bethany Kane, Alan Caughey, and Chris Millar, who famously swap instruments and vocal duties between songs.

Known for their ferocious energy, biting social commentary, and chaotic live shows, Problem Patterns channels the raw spirit of punk with a distinct Northern Irish voice. Their music tackles pressing issues like reproductive rights, sectarianism, sexism, and the general frustrations of modern life with urgency and wit. They released their debut album, Blousey, in November 2023, which garnered critical acclaim and a nomination for the Northern Ireland Music Prize. Problem Patterns are celebrated for their unapologetic defiance and their ability to craft anthemic punk tracks that resonate with a powerful, relatable message.

"I'm Fine and I'm Doing Great" is a new single by Problem Patterns, officially released on July 16, 2025. Lyrically, the song is a sarcastic and biting commentary on the pressure to maintain a facade of wellness and positivity, particularly in the face of mental health struggles or general societal pressures. The title itself is a common, often insincere, response to "how are you?", perfectly setting up the song's critique. It delves into the frustration of being told to "be positive" or to simply "look on the bright side" when genuinely struggling, highlighting the invalidation of real emotions. The lyrics touch on themes like being patronized, the exhaustion of constantly trying to suppress negative feelings, and the performative nature of happiness in modern society.
