New Music: Zion Garcia: Western Sydney's Alt-Hip-Hop Visionary Unveils "SCORPIO SWORD"

Zion Garcia is a multi-talented rapper, producer, filmmaker, and writer hailing from Western Sydney, Australia. His artistry reflects the diverse and agile nature of his generation, making him a prominent figure in the country's alt-hip-hop scene.

Garcia's distinct musical style is a natural evolution from the global hip-hop takeover of the 2010s. He pulls from an eclectic pool of influences, including Gorillaz, Q-Tip, and atmospheric video game and film soundtracks, while maintaining a unique sound that blends melodic cadences, jazzy beats, and candid lyricism. His work is celebrated for its sincerity, emotional depth, and authenticity. Having burst onto the scene at 16, Garcia has since risen through Sydney's underground circuits, performing at notable venues like the Sydney Opera House for Vivid LIVE 2024. His debut EP, ZION GARCIA: (THEATRICAL VERSION) (2023), showcased his innovative approach to storytelling and production. Garcia, who is of Tongan-Spanish heritage, is also a passionate advocate for the Western Sydney music community and aims to launch a label to support emerging Pasifika artists.

"SCORPIO SWORD" is a new single by Zion Garcia, officially released on July 16, 2025. This track is a preview from his second EP, "The New Film Star," which is scheduled to be released on August 29, 2025. A music video for "SCORPIO SWORD" was also released, directed and produced by Zion Garcia himself, with co-direction by Tom Ward.
