Westside Cowboy is a four-piece alternative punk-rock band formed in Manchester. They ignited buzz with high-energy live shows at festivals like The Great Escape in Brighton and clinched the BBC 6 Music premiere for their new single. Their unapologetically raw, jubilant sound—blending folk-rock guitar riffs, punk urgency, and ragged harmonies—earned them the Emerging Talent award at Glastonbury 2025, including a Woodsies stage performance and a £5,000 PRS Foundation prize.
They’re set to release their debut EP, This Better Be Something Great, on August 8, 2025, via Nice Swan/Heist or Hit, following up on earlier singles like “Shells” and “I’ve Never Met Anyone I Thought I Could Really Love…”
Released June 17, 2025, “Alright Alright Alright” bursts onto the scene with barnstorming punk energy and foot-stomping spirit. It begins with distorted guitar riffs nodding to Johnny Cash's “Folsom Prison Blues” before charging headlong into an apocalyptic, fuzz-drenched groove. Vocal lines are traded in a playful tug-of-war over jangling melodies, punctuated by crashing drums and messy-yet-magnetic harmonies—“a backyard singalong where nobody cares about precision, but everyone’s got soul”
Lyrically, it’s a raw-yet-joyous declaration of defiance and perseverance: life’s curveballs don’t stand a chance when you fight back with collective fire. The song began life as Westside Cowboy’s first-ever original jam—an ethos that remains loud and clear in its unfiltered sound. Serving as the lead single from their upcoming EP, “Alright Alright Alright” solidifies Westside Cowboy’s rising reputation: a band catching fire mid-take and daring us to keep up.
