supermodel* is the brainchild of Los Angeles-based producer Frankie Beanie, originally from Virginia. With a musical journey spanning East Coast punk bands, Liverpool’s indie and dance scenes, and a deep fondness for hip‑hop, Frankie crafted the supermodel** persona to break musical boundaries. Embracing punk impulsiveness, deadpan vocals, funk, UK cultural nods, and dancefloor sensibility, he rejects “cool-guy” facades in favor of authenticity. The lowercase name reflects his ethos: spontaneous, raw, and instinctive—never forced.
Released June 20, 2025 and premiered on BBC 6 Music, “i used to live in england” is supermodel*’s debut single. It layers funk-driven bass and tight drums under frank, spoken-word vocals about transatlantic life. Referencing Tesco meal deals and British stereotypes, the song winks at cultural difference with humor and self-awareness. A punchy, fun track with sly wit, it also nods to early LCD Soundsystem in its groove and delivery, ending on a burst of experimental sounds.
