Rocket is a burgeoning alt-rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California, in 2021. The band is composed of Alithea Tuttle (bass, vocals), Desi Scaglione (guitar), Baron Rinzler (guitar), and Cooper Ladomade (drums). Having known each other since preschool or high school in Los Angeles, their shared upbringing in the city's vibrant music scene heavily influences their sound.

Known for their raw, fuzzed-out intensity and high-energy performances, Rocket blends jagged guitars, pounding drums, and soaring, hypnotic vocals. They describe their sound as incorporating everything they love as musicians, without leaning on any one genre, creating something uniquely their own. Rocket has quickly built a reputation as a band that's more than just an opener, garnering early praise and touring extensively, including supporting acts like The Smashing Pumpkins.

"Wide Awake" is the lead single from Rocket's highly anticipated debut album, "R Is For Rocket," which is set to drop on October 3, 2025, via Transgressive and Canvasback. The single itself was officially released on July 9, 2025, and is accompanied by an official music video.

Lyrically, "Wide Awake" delves into themes of emotional unraveling and self-awareness. Vocalist Alithea Tuttle has stated that the album R Is For Rocket as a whole is rooted in relationships – not just romantic ones, but the "fragile, complicated connections we have with ourselves and the world around us." "Wide Awake" serves as a perfect window into this broader introspective arc, capturing the tension of inner turmoil and the process of confronting one's feelings.
