MORN is a compelling post-punk band that hails from South Wales, UK. Comprised of two sets of siblings – Oliver Riba (vocals, guitar), Robert Riba (vocals, guitar), Mae Ryder (vocals, bass), and Noah Ryder (drums) – the band formed concrete friendships through their shared love of music and have been active in the London DIY underground scene since relocating to the capital in 2024. They are known for their raw, emotional vocals, screeching guitar riffs, and intricate yet powerful drums, creating a sound that is both chaotic and distinctive. MORN has quickly built a reputation for their energetic live shows, selling out headline performances across London, including a notable appearance at The Windmill Brixton, and have also secured a place on Glastonbury's Emerging Talent longlist.

"Modern Man" is the highly anticipated debut single from MORN, released on May 29, 2025, via Speedy Wunderground as part of the label's Speedy Single Series.

Lyrically, "Modern Man" is a glitchy, itchy rager with gloomy undertones, reflecting a "desperate sprint through the loneliness and madness of routine, a strange reflection on the dream of escape." Vocalist and guitarist Oliver Riba explained that the song "came from the wild urgency of our lives," born from "teenage riffs, shaped by laughter, anger, and fear." The lyrics touch upon feelings of entrapment and societal despair, with lines like "It's a strange place / Get me out of here / There are people dying / and they can't breathe." Musically, the track features fuzzy guitars and gang vocals, with "stabbing guitar strums [that] conjure a restless urgency." The song was intentionally captured live to maintain its raw, rambunctious fuzz and live energy, with producer Dan Carey bringing it to life with his signature touch. "Modern Man" serves as a bracing and visceral introduction to the world of MORN.
