Lip Critic is a New York-based quartet formed in 2019 by Bret Kaser, Danny Eberle, Ilan Natter, and Connor Kleitz. Emerging from art-school and hardcore roots, the band built a cult following with their dizzying live shows and genre-defying sound—merging dual drummers, glitchy electronics, industrial noise, and raw punk energy. Frontman Bret’s shouted mantras and their unpredictable performance style have earned them a reputation for explosive sets that sit somewhere between punk, noise, and experimental electronica. After early DIY releases, they signed to Partisan Records and made waves with their acclaimed debut full-length Hex Dealer in 2024.
“Mirror Match”:Released in July 2025 alongside “Second Life,” “Mirror Match” is Lip Critic’s first new music of the year—a jolt of thunderous percussion, frantic sampling, and jagged, off-kilter vocals. The track was inspired by a surreal hotel-room dream and a freeform studio jam that turned chaos into something danceable and intense. “Mirror Match” captures the band’s gift for turning raw noise and punk aggression into something strangely catchy, reflecting their signature style of gritty experimentation and visceral energy.
