GANS is a dynamic two-man punk-rock act hailing from the West Midlands, UK, specifically Birmingham. The duo is comprised of Euan Woodman (drums, vocals) and Tom Rhodes (bass, vocals). While both have been active in the Birmingham music scene since 2017, GANS itself materialized in late 2023. They are known for their raw, heavy, and raucous sound, which blends punk-rock energy with elements of indie and alternative genres, sometimes incorporating synthesizers. GANS writes music about universal themes like love and hate, often discussing the deepest challenges affecting their generation with a surprising tenderness not always seen in the genre. They have gained significant traction, securing plays on BBC Radio 6 and signing with Peter Doherty's Strap Originals label in January 2025. They are also known for producing their own music videos with collaborator Benji Charles.

The Song: "IT'S JUST LIFE"

"IT'S JUST LIFE" is a new single from GANS, released on May 28, 2025. It serves as the second single from their upcoming debut album, "GOOD FOR THE SOUL," which is scheduled for release on September 19, 2025, via Strap Originals. The song was produced by Ross Orton, known for his work with bands like Arctic Monkeys and Amyl & The Sniffers.

Lyrically, "IT'S JUST LIFE" delves into the futility of self-fulfillment without confronting internal issues first. The duo reflects on how the continuous "race to fulfill ourselves" can become meaningless if one doesn't address their inner struggles and doubts. The track explores themes of acceptance, self-destruction, and body image, drawing inspiration from the band's shared passion for painting, literature, and poetry. Musically, the song combines GANS's signature blend of gritty realism and powerful sound, delivering an intense and organic vibe with a steady sense of chaos, balanced by emotional depth in Euan Woodman's vocals.
