Beachtown is an emerging alternative duo based in London, formed in 2019 through a chance meeting in a gig queue. The band consists of Zaine Masoliver (from Menorca) and Fred Cowan (from London). They are celebrated for weaving together an eclectic tapestry of influences, often drawing inspiration from introverted and enigmatic artists like King Krule and Dijon.

Their sound is characterized by woozy guitars, digitally distorted production, and emotive harmonies, blending oddball pop sensibilities with elements of shoegaze, indie, and dream pop. They also intermittently pay tribute to Zaine's Hispanic upbringing with bossa nova-influenced breaks. beachtown aims to transform "turbulence into unsettlingly hooky pop motifs about love, death, and sexuality," often with a "morbid sense of humour." They've quickly gained traction, with support from Spotify's Fresh Finds UK & IE, New Music Friday UK, and BBC Radio 1.
