Harrison Patrick Smith, known professionally as The Dare, is an American musician and DJ based in New York City. His music blends elements of dance-punk, electroclash, and indie rock, drawing comparisons to the sounds of New York in the early 2000s.  Before adopting the moniker The Dare, Smith performed under the name Turtlenecked, gaining a following in the Pacific Northwest. ​
