Pynch are DIY dreamers from London, carving out their own corner of the modern indie landscape. Fronted by songwriter and producer Spencer Enock, the band craft shimmering, melancholic guitar pop fused with glitchy electronics, slacker-rock charm, and poetic sincerity. Their new album Beautiful Noise — written and produced in their Brixton bedroom studio and released on their own label, Chillburn Recordings — is their most ambitious and personal work to date. The record explores love, death, and the pursuit of meaning through art, drawing comparisons to Pavement, Blur, and New Order.
“Microwave Rhapsody” is a highlight from Beautiful Noise, encapsulating Pynch’s ability to mix heartfelt sincerity with sparkling, playful experimentation. The song pairs melancholic guitar lines with woozy synth textures and a driving rhythm section, balancing introspection with a sense of movement and release. It’s lo-fi, intimate, and quietly anthemic — the sound of a band turning the ordinary (even something as simple as a microwave) into something meaningful, surreal, and resonant.
