Welly is a Southampton-bred, Brighton-based indie rock band known for their witty, energetic, and distinctly British sound. Fronted by Elliot (aka Welly), the group includes Hanna Whitkamp (keys, percussion), Matt Gleeson (guitar), Joe Holden-Brown (guitar), and Jacob Whitear (bass). Their music blends Britpop, punk, and theatrical storytelling, often exploring suburban life with humor and heart.​

Their single "It's Not Like This In France" was released in March 2025 as part of their debut album Big in the Suburbs. The track is a satirical take on British culture, contrasting it with an idealized view of France. The lyrics humorously critique aspects of British life, such as bureaucracy and culinary habits.
