Militarie Gun, based in Los Angeles, are known for fusing hardcore punk energy with melodic alternative rock. The group is fronted by Ian Shelton, with guitarists William Acuña and Kevin Kiley, bassist Waylon Trim, and drummer David Stalsworth. Since launching in 2020, they’ve steadily built a reputation for loud, emotional songs that balance raw vulnerability with big choruses. Their debut album Life Under the Gun (2023) earned praise for pushing hardcore into more accessible, yet still intense territory.
Released in September 2025 ahead of their sophomore album God Save the Gun (due October 17, 2025), “Throw Me Away” explores the painful tension between needing to feel valued and resenting that need. Shelton describes the song as being about feeling only seen or appreciated when you're useful or visible, and the dread of losing that.
