Lucky Iris is a Leeds-based hyper-pop duo composed of vocalist Maeve Florsheim and multi-instrumentalist Jasper Exley. They create crunchy, electronic pop music characterized by catchy hooks, emotional layers, and forward-thinking production. The pair formed during the lockdown period and have quickly gained acclaim with support from major outlets such as BBC Radio 1, Rolling Stone UK, and Spotify editorial playlists. They've released acclaimed EPs and embarked on live tours supporting notable artists while receiving funding and backing from music development programs in Leeds.

Their new single, "play me like a speaker," released on September 30, 2025, is part of their upcoming six-track mixtape "fall in love with the dj," scheduled for January 23, 2026. The track represents a bold sonic evolution for Lucky Iris, described as a "full-throttle surge of club-ready energy" combining sharp-edged synths and chopped vocals. The song was created with minimalist gear on the South West coast of Ireland, embodying fearless experimentation through their signature hyper-pop style. According to Maeve, the track was about pushing their creative boundaries and having fun making music they wanted to hear. It is so powerful that it reportedly shattered the duo’s car speakers on the first playback. This single sets a high-energy tone for the mixtape, which explores themes of dancing, yearning, love, loss, and music itself.
