Music: Dream Nails – “The Information”: Punk Spirit, Recalibrated

Dream Nails — Mimi Jasson, Lucy Katz, and Anya Pearson — are asking different questions these days. Known for their energised, empathetic, and politically conscious punk, they first burst onto the scene with their self-titled 2020 debut before signing to Marshall Records for 2023’s Doom Loop. Those punk roots are still present, but their focus has shifted: they’re searching for optimism, exploring a softer lens, and recalibrating their creative response to a complicated world.

Now operating as a trio, with bassist Mimi Jasson stepping up to take lead vocals, Dream Nails have found fresh purpose. “The world that we live in is so complicated, and the old ways of trying to challenge it or make art about it aren’t working for us anymore,” says drummer Lucy Katz. This new chapter is about finding resilience, strengthening connection, and creating music that nourishes both artist and listener — a reminder that you can’t change the world by pouring from an empty cup.

“The Information” is Dream Nails at their most reflective yet powerful. The track fuses their trademark melodic punk drive with a newfound spaciousness, letting the lyrics take center stage as they examine what it means to seek truth and meaning in a noisy, overwhelming world. It’s a song about slowing down, filtering through the static, and holding onto what really matters — a rallying cry for clarity and connection in turbulent times.
