DEADLETTER is a post-punk/alternative band originally formed in Yorkshire but now carving out their space in South London. Formed in 2020, the current six-member lineup includes frontman Zac Lawrence (vocals), George Ullyott (bass), and Alfie Husband (drums). The band is highly acclaimed for their masterful live performances, which are known for their visceral energy and breaking down the barrier between the band and the audience. Their sound channels the acidic wit of Gang of Four and the angular rhythms of Talking Heads, creating a potent mix of art-punk flair and sweaty club rhythms. They released their acclaimed debut album, Hysterical Strength, in 2024, and have since returned with their new album, Existence Is Bliss.

"To the Brim" is a single that ushers in a new era for DEADLETTER following their debut album, Hysterical Strength. The song pushes towards a more sophisticated, fluid, and genre-blurring sound with spotless production. The central theme of the track is the painful experience of living with denial, exploring how this state leaves an individual feeling "literally 'full to the brim' with despair". Frontman Zac Lawrence's gritty vocals expertly tie the elements together. The band stated that the move toward a fresh musical start was, in part, a "direct reaction to that denial" explored in the lyrics. The song demonstrates the high standard and potential of this promising British band.
