Fcukers (pronounced with a soft 'c', as in "F-cookers") is an American electronic band formed in New York City in 2022. The group currently operates as a duo, consisting of Shannon Wise (vocals) and Jackson Walker Lewis (bass, keyboards, production), following the 2024 departure of founding drummer Ben Scharf. Both Wise (formerly of The Shacks) and Lewis (formerly of Spud Canyon) come from indie rock backgrounds but transitioned to electronic music to explore new creative avenues.
Fcukers has quickly gained significant buzz in the underground music scenes of New York and London. Their sound is an energetic and often hypnotic blend of '90s and early 2000s electronic music, incorporating elements of house, techno, club, EDM, big beat, and pop, with hints of their indie rock roots. They are known for their driving beats, "whispering vocals," "snottily menacing" delivery, and raw, danceable energy. Their live shows are particularly lauded for their spontaneity and ability to create an immersive party atmosphere. They released their debut single "Mothers" in 2023 and the EP Baggy$$ in 2024, and have collaborated with notable artists like James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem.
"Play Me" is the latest single from Fcukers, officially released today, July 22, 2025. It serves as a fresh piece of music following their debut EP and signals a new era for the duo. The track was co-written and produced by the acclaimed Kenneth Blume (formerly known as Kenny Beats).
