'The Discovery of the World' is a fiction that is based on real facts, and a manifesto that aims to reach a moment of reflection in each viewer. São Paulo is the chosen setting, the immensity of the metropolis accentuates the melancholy of the five characters, who despite living in the most populous city in Latin America, in the eyes of those who watch, are always alone. Aguinaldo Jr is Brazilian, born in São Paulo, is 37 years old, has a degree in Audiovisual Production and a postgraduate degree in Communication in Digital Media.
Since 2008, he has been working in different fields of audiovisual; photography, editing, script, production, but he was always passionate about cinema.Before taking on the direction of A Descoberta do Mundo, he worked as Director of Photography in two other independent productions, "As Ultimas Putas de Paris by Ana Paula Nogueira" which toured the world in festivals and "Amor Sangue Dor by Magnum Borini", in the latter was awarded at the 10th Balkan Nordic Film Festival for Best Cinematography.
