Music of the Day: Shines - The End Of Something

Shines is a four-piece indie band from Grimsby, UK, known for their guitar-pop sound that blends alt-indie, post-punk, dream pop, jangly pop, shoegaze, and bedroom pop influences. Formed by Richard Dutton (vocals), Rob Cross (guitar), Marc Poole (bass), and Chris Day (drums), they quickly gained attention in early 2024 after a few shows. Shines released the singles "Home" and "Stunt Double" in early 2024, followed by their debut album "How It Ends" in 2024. Their music is described as modern indie, born from laptop production with a strong focus on songwriting, and has been compared to bands like Joy Division and The Smiths.
