Music of the Day: Neon Fir - Here We Are

Neon Fir is an Estonian progressive pop group that aims to warp and play around with the building blocks of pop music.The band’s self-titled 2021 debut exhibits their novel approach, blending elements of neo-soul, 80’s synthpop, post-punk and music from the Estonian Soviet era into a seamless whole with a contemporary, yet unconventional sound.Neon Fir has enjoyed a warm reception in Estonian media and the local alternative scene and has played festivals such as Jazzkaar, Tallinn Music Week, Trad.Fest! and Tudengijazz. They’ve been a part of the Estonian Jazz Union’s 2022 programme and won the esteemed 2021 Uno Naissoo composition competition.
