Lip Critic are an experimental electro-punk outfit based in New York City, formed by Bret Kaser, Connor Kleitz and Danny Eberle. The group’s sound defies easy categorisation, blending elements of punk, hardcore, club-inspired electronics and unpredictable noise into an abrasive, visceral style that thrives on contrast and intensity. Their unconventional instrumentation — often featuring two samplers alongside dual drummers and vocals — contributes to chaotic yet compelling textures that have earned them recognition in underground music circles. After self-releasing projects in the late 2010s and early 2020s, they signed to Partisan Records and released their debut album Hex Dealer in 2024, which positioned them as one of New York’s most talked-about experimental acts.

“Legs In A Snare” is the lead single from Lip Critic’s forthcoming 2026 album Theft World, announced for release on May 1 via Partisan Records. The track captures the band’s signature collision of frenetic energy and unsettling atmospherics, driven by intense rhythms, jagged textures and frontman Bret Kaser’s snapping vocal delivery. The track was created with unconventional approaches — including using a re-amped 808 to generate power-chord riffs — underlining their experimental production techniques.

Lyrically and sonically, “Legs In A Snare” channels psychological tension and manic urgency, framing obsession, distraction and emotional turmoil within a volatile musical landscape. The song merges groove and chaos, intimacy and menace, embodying Theft World’s broader themes of instability, fixation and creative subversion.

In summary, Lip Critic are a boundary-pushing act rooted in New York’s underground, and “Legs In A Snare” exemplifies their ability to harness raw, unpredictable forces into music that feels both confrontational and inventively charged.
