Holy Coves are a Welsh Awen Rock band hailing from Anglesey, North Wales, led by singer-songwriter Scott Marsden. Known for their expansive soundscapes, emotive songwriting, and hypnotic live performances, the band have carved a unique space in the UK’s indie and psychedelic rock scenes. Following a string of sold-out shows and packed-out festival slots at Focus Wales, Isle of Wight Festival, and more, Holy Coves have emerged as one of Wales’ most powerful and atmospheric modern rock acts.
Their critically acclaimed and award-winning third album, Druids and Bards, released via Snowdonia Records, has been widely celebrated — receiving airplay and support from John Kennedy (Radio X), Gary Crowley (BBC Radio London), Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music), and Huw Stephens and Adam Walton (BBC Radio Wales). The record was long-listed for the Welsh Music Prize, named Tiwn Media’s Album of the Year 2023, and featured among Louder Than War’s Top 100 Albums of the Year.
“Falling Down” captures Holy Coves at their cinematic best — a soaring blend of shimmering guitars, ethereal vocals, and introspective lyricism that channels both beauty and melancholy. The track embodies the band’s signature Awen Rock spirit: emotionally charged, atmospheric, and deeply rooted in a sense of place and purpose. It’s a song about descent and renewal, the moment when surrender becomes clarity. With “Falling Down”, Holy Coves continue to prove that Welsh rock can sound both ancient and timeless — mystical yet undeniably modern.
