The life of a girl born in a village of workers at a mining camp. After her mother disappears without explanation, she must learn to cope with the successive losses life throws her way. When mining ends in the region, the village becomes a ghost town. With nowhere to go, she and her inseparable dog are the only ones who remain. Just as loneliness seems unbearable, a dam burst wipes out the village. After losing everything, Kaylane clings to survival and resistance.
