Alain agrees to step into the shoes of Jacques Brel in his next film. But the actor, visibly upset by a scenario which reminds him of his own story, seems deeply uncomfortable. At the same time, suffering from cancer which is progressing inexorably, Alain learns that he must undergo an operation. The news really clicked for him. He refuses to undertake treatment because it is now guided by a completely different objective. In fact, he decides at that moment to stop filming to go and join his daughter, determined to reconnect with her, ties that have been broken for too long.
