It was in 1985, during a dinner with her mother, that Vanessa, 13, met Gabriel Matzneff, a fifty-year-old writer celebrated by the Parisian literary community. Over the course of his meetings, the latter gains the teenager's trust, managing to make her his muse but also his lover. Fascinated by the charisma of this man who is as cultured as he is manipulative, Vanessa suffers more and more violently from his destructive psychological influence.
